Saint Lucia Gaming Authority Has a New Board

The Saint Lucia Gaming Authority has a new Board to govern its affairs. The tenure of the new Board commenced July 4, 2002. The new Chairman is Mr. Edward Harris whilst the Deputy Chairman is Mr. Julian Charles. The Board comprises of Mr. Andrew Frederick, who together with Mr. Harris were on the Board from its inception and are former members of the old Board.

Mr. Claude Griffith and Mrs. Diane Smith are the two new additional members of the Board.

The Board of the St. Lucia Gaming Authority was established under the governance of the Gaming Control Act 2000 - which is an Act established "to permit Gaming and Regulate Gaming activities and for related matters."

The Gaming Control Act (Commencement Order #63 of 14th May 2001) facilitated the legal effect of the Gaming Control Act.
