Richard has been working in the field of addictions for the past 25 years. He has worked in responsible gaming for the past 14 years and is presently the Programme Manager for the RISE/BGLC Responsible Gaming Programme in Kingston Jamaica.   

Richard has served as Clinical Director and therapist at facilities in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. He was also very involved with the implementation and development of the Drug Treatment Court in Jamaica. 

He is integrally involved in providing training and workshops in the field of addictions, personal development and employee assistant programmes not only in Jamaica but throughout the Caribbean. 

Richard holds a BA in Psychology and Philosophy and a M.Sc. in Psychology. 


Regulator driven responsible gaming

The journey to implementation and acceptance of responsible gaming as a necessary part of the industry in Jamaica required negotiation and education, rather than a punitive and authoritarian approach. This session shares the knowledge, lessons learned and experience gained in Jamaica’s transition to compliance.
