Much of the principal focus of gambling research has been upon problem gambling and harm. But this session will focus on what can be learnt from the high percentage of gamblers who gamble safely and responsibly.

What valuable insights can be drawn from a range of gamblers to help inform preventative approaches, self-help methods, and how recreational gambling might transition to less healthy forms?

Panel participants:

  • Professor Paul Delfabbro (facilitator), School of Psychology, University of Adelaide (Australia)
  • Dr Richard Wood, Principal and Founding Director, GamRes (Canada)
  • Professor Nerilee Hing, Research Professor (Gambling Studies), Central Queensland University (Australia)
